James Lightfoot is a full time artist, who works from his studio and home near Brighton, West Sussex.
 
Since his last Cork Street show in December 2003, James has worked almost exclusively on portrait commissions.
 
James Lightfoot is the older brother of Katharine Lightfoot and nephew to John Lightfoot, both successful artists in their own right.
 
James studied Fine Art at Reading University, where he was taught by artists such as Mick Moon RA, Peter Kalkoff, Tom Barrett Richard Wilson and Roger Cook.  He painted large abstracts canvases in oil.
